Michael J. Coar, Jr.

Chief Executive Officer and Chairman

Michael J. Coar Jr., is the chief executive officer of VirPack, the company he founded in 1998. Michael is a 30+ year veteran in systems integration, software development and document management. Prior to starting VirPack, Michael served as Fannie Mae's director of imaging where he successfully implemented the organization's first imaging and workflow system. His experience also includes roles in software development and engineering at Price Waterhouse, Compact Software, and Image Business Systems. In 2015, Michael was named a Mortgage Banking All-Star by Mortgage Banking and the Mortgage Bankers Association for his work in establishing the ePackaging and eDelivery of loan files from lenders to their secondary market recipients. Michael is an accomplished guitar player, recording engineer and music fan. He also enjoys gadgets, 3D printing and making ice cream.

Andrew Shoemaker

Chief Technology Officer

Andrew Shoemaker is VirPack's chief technology officer. A programming and document imaging veteran, he joined the company in 1998 to spearhead the development of the company's award-winning technology. Prior to joining VirPack, he co-founded Perspex Imageworks, a software development company, and was a member of the Network Operations Center team for the Networld+Interop trade show. He also spent several years as a software developer and manager at Image Processing Technologies, a document imaging company in Blacksburg, Virginia. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a fervent fan of electronic music, and also an avid traveler who has journeyed to Ecuador, Egypt and many countries in Europe and Asia.

Wayland T. Pond IV

Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Wayland T. Pond IV is VirPack's senior vice president of sales and marketing where he oversees sales and client relations and partners closely with the software development team on product development to ensure customer feedback is incorporated into the company's technology solutions. He joined VirPack in 2000 and helped pioneer the mortgage industry's first Delivery of a fully indexed loan file. Since joining VirPack, Wayland has been instrumental in both the on-boarding and day-to-day management of VirPack's entire client base. He holds a bachelor's degree from the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond. He has traveled the country to see The Dave Matthews Band live in concert and is also an avid golfer and outdoorsman.
